Brand Voice Kit

You paste 3–5 writing samples. The kit infers diction, rhythm, humor, and forbidden words, then shows a voice card and a playground that rewrites user text into that register. It also produces three ‘this is off-voice’ counterexamples so the team knows what not to sound like. Quiet typesetter layout. For brands tired of ‘friendly but professional’ as a strategy.

Spec

Build a Brand Voice Kit — extract a voice from evidence, then stay in it.

PRODUCT
Paste 3–5 writing samples (emails, posts, manifesto). Infer a voice. Show a card. Offer a playground that rewrites new text into that voice. Prove you understood it by generating three off-voice sins.

VOICE CARD (always these fields)
- Diction (short / latinates / concrete / slang — pick and quote 3 words from samples)
- Rhythm (staccato / long-clause / mixed) with a one-line tell
- Humor (none / dry / warm) — never “witty” as a cop-out
- Point of view (I / we / the product / none)
- Forbidden words (inferred + user-editable)
- Do: 5 bullets
- Don’t: 5 bullets
- Signature move: one craft habit (e.g. “starts with a scene”, “names the dollar cost”)

SCREENS
1. Samples — three textareas minimum (block add up to 5). “Read voice”.
2. Card — the voice card, editable. Saving updates the playground.
3. Playground — source on left, on-voice rewrite on right. A “make it 20% more like sample 2” slider is too cute: instead, a chip to bias toward a named sample.
4. Off-voice — three counterexamples labeled (corporate sludge / fake-casual / academic). Each is the same message, wrongly voiced.

DATA
Voice kits in localStorage (name, samples, card JSON). Last 5 rewrites.

EMPTY
Load sample kit: three paragraphs in a dry operator voice (short sentences, numbers, no slogans).

VISUAL
Typesetter. Plenty of white. The card looks like a specimen sheet. No brand-rainbow, no “personality quiz” illustrations.

OUT OF SCOPE
Multi-brand orgs, Figma tokens, social scheduling, “AI influencer” chrome.

ACCEPTANCE
- With the sample kit, forbidden words include at least one inferred sludge word.
- Playground rewrite does not introduce banned words from the card.
- Off-voice examples are clearly worse, not just shorter.
