ASCII Poster Studio

A small studio for figlet-adjacent posters, double-line frames, and phosphor / paper / amber palettes. Live preview on a monospace stage. Copy the poster as text or download SVG that actually looks like the stage. Dark and light. Built for people who still think a well-boxed title is a personality.

Spec

Build an ASCII Poster Studio — a real studio, not a textarea with a border.

PRODUCT
Compose a shareable ASCII poster: title, optional tagline, frame, width, palette. Live stage. Export as text and as SVG that matches the stage.

CONTROLS (always visible, keyboard-first)
- Title (required)
- Tagline (optional)
- Frame: single | double | heavy | none
- Align: left | center
- Width: 32 / 48 / 64 columns (stepper)
- Palette chips: phosphor (default), paper, amber
- Figlet-lite: a small internal font for A–Z, 0–9, space, and basic punct. Do not depend on a network figlet service. Fallback to boxed title if a char is missing (still render the frame).
- Invert (swaps fg/bg of the stage)

STAGE
Monospace, exact column width, no wrap. Letter-spacing 0. A faint column ruler above, togglable. The stage is the export source of truth.

EXPORT
- Copy text (the exact characters)
- Download SVG: each character as text in a mono font (IBM Plex Mono), background rect from palette, tight viewBox. File name from slugified title.
- No PNG raster in Phase 1 (SVG is enough and sharp).

SCREENS
One studio screen. Controls left or top, stage right/bottom. Mobile: controls first, stage sticky under them? Prefer stage on top on mobile so you see what you type.

KEYBOARD
T focus title, F cycle frame, [ ] width, P cycle palette, Cmd/Ctrl+C copies if the stage is focused (show a toast “poster copied”).

DATA
Last 12 posters in localStorage (all control values + output).

EMPTY
Start with title “GROKFORGE” and tagline “templates for grok agents”, double frame, 48 cols, phosphor — so the studio is alive on first paint.

VISUAL
The chrome around the stage is quiet. The stage is the hero. Palettes:
- phosphor: bg #0b0d0b, fg #c5d6c4
- paper: bg #f3f0e4, fg #161816
- amber: bg #1a1408, fg #e6c27a
No emoji anywhere, including in sample titles.

OUT OF SCOPE
Animation, FIGlet online fonts, social post scheduling, account gallery.

ACCEPTANCE
- Changing width immediately reflows the stage.
- SVG opens in a browser and is readable.
- Missing glyph does not crash; it degrades to the boxed title.
- 44px controls; no overflow at 390px.
